This week in science we dissected skate, frogs, and other things. It was really disgusting to see inside of the skate , it smelled very weird. It was fun though to learn about the differences between a male and a female. A male has clasper skeletons and the females don't. We also heard Minatas song, I loved it. We had to
take pictures of our animal from the dorsal view and the ventral view.
This week in science we learned about the body parts of the animals we dissected. We also learned what makes that a male skate has many organs. We also learned that males have Clasper Skeleton. We also learned about ventral view and dorsal view, and had to draw our animals each way. We also learned how to update photos on our gmail. We learned how to annotate the pictures.
The two organisms we dissected were the Perch and the Skate. A difference they have is the Perch has scales on the outside and the Skate scales on the inside.

This month in science #7
This month in science we made a video's of what biome we chose, and slides telling about the biome. Me and my team chose to do the desert as our biome. We watched each others classmates video to see how they did. Everyone did pretty good, some teams needed to speak louder but the gave us great facts. Everyone drew a picture of there made up animal. I think it was very interesting and funny to see everybody's creation. when we were recording, i felt very nervous but i got it over with.
This month in science I learned about different biome's and animals that live there. I also learned how to make slides. I learned about what animals live in the desert and what they eat. I noticed that my group got a lot of work done, and we're a good team. I enjoyed doing the project and i would like to do this again. My team is awesome, we worked well together.

Classification Challenge
kingdom-Animalia
Phylum-Chordata Class-Mammalia
Infraclass-Eutheria
Order-Chiroptera.
Family-Chiropter
Genus-Leptonycteris.
Species-1000 species of bats
Bats are mammals. However, they are not
rodents or birds, and do not have any closely related
orders. They are related to carnivores.Different species
select different habitats during different seasons.
Bats exist all over world. Bats are found in almost
every habitat available on earth.
The similarities between a bat, turtle and a starfish is
they all have eyes and legs. They all eat and drink.
They all have a predator and a prey.Bats, turtle and starfish can swim. They all can smell.
The differences between a bat, starfish and turtles,
they all eat different things. A bat fly's and a starfish and a turtle swim. Bats have good hearing,Starfish don't have ears and turtles don't have outer ears but inner ears.

Cricket Investigation
Our question was, what do crickets like better fruits or vegetables?. If we observe a cricket and put fruits and vegetables in the tank, then I think it will prefer vegetables, because when we were observing them they didnt eat the apple's and they got all rotten.
My data table
Background: Cricketrs are related to grasshoppers. The sound emitted by crickets is commonly referred to as chirping.Only the male crickets chirp, crickets like all other insects, are cold-blooded.

This week in science #6
This week in science we did cricket investigation and a data day for the crickets. For the warm up , David asked us what things we'll need. I think I'll need outlets, food, air, internet, and transportation. We also did a lot of group work this week , I was excited about that. We had to research 10 things about what crickets need.
I learned many things about crickets while observing them. They are more active when you take the lid off the cage. We also had to ask some questions like, do crickets like dirt or grass better ?. We learned about dichotomous keys while doing a mission challenge with jelly belly's. we needed to make up questions and answer them while looking at the different jelly beans.

TWIS #5
We did the rocket conclusion for our mission challenge. This week in science we did animal behavior. We watched video's and answered questions. In the video we had to describe what the animals were doing. We also looked at crickets and observed them and write anything that we wanted to know about the crickets. We started this unit yesterday and I think its interesting.
I learned about rockets and what the parts of it is called, nose cone, body and wings. The wings are there to give the rocket stability. We had to figure out our independent variable, dependent variable, hypothesis, and testable question. I also learned about the similarities and differences between animals and humans. We also learned about the body parts of a cricket. When observing the crickets we had to write what they did, many died.

TWIS #1
ienceThis week in science we did a marshmellow challenge,we also looked at different plants. We shared things about what we knew about the plants. When you look closely you can see insects and the patterns on the leaves. My group was fun to be in because its nice to hear what others have to say and there opinions. These activity's are fun.
This week in science we learned more about plants.I also learned more about teamwork/group work.I responded to the warm up(What makes a good teammate)and I wrote "Someone who participates and shares there opinion". I learned how to make a marshmellow stand on sticks. We were struggling to make it stand up.It was hard but we got it,it did take long though.
