This week in science #11
This week in science we went to the park and collected things for our tank. On Monday we went around the room and tried to define words. I had to research about spiders and draw a pictures of the tank. I had to label the living and non-living things. We also got our seats changed, I like my seat.
This week in science we learned about living and non-living things. We also learned new words. I learned about spiders and how cellar spiders are also called "Daddy long legs". I also learned that cellar spiders cant bite us humans because their fangs are too short and only for them to catch their prey. I learned that they catch their food in their webs.

This week in science #12
This week in science we made booklets that talk about Cellar Spiders and their needs. We watched Brain Pop videos. We also had to replace our spider because it died, I think their was to much bacteria. Our spider is always on its web above the habitat, our habitat really got messed up. We didn't put enough
water because our habitat is really dry, but we did put water.
This week we learned about Cellar Spiders eat. We also learned about what habitat, they live on dry leafy lands. We learned the symbiotic meanings. We learned the difference between a food chain and a food web. A food web is when all living things are linked together by what they eat and a food chain follow a single path while they eat eachother. I learned that cellar spiders have 6 legs.

This month in science #10
This month in science we did a human impact lesson and looked at different posters and described what was going on. We also got into groups and discussed what water, waste and energy is. We made posters for our t-shirt design, and also had to brainstorm thoughts about a logo. We also had to brainstorm thoughts before we drew anything. David made us check our blogpost to see if we had any missing work. Our class calculated watts. This month in science we learned how to make a change in the environment and how to make the world a better place. We learned how to save energy instead of wasting it and that to much energy usage makes a bad future. I learned something about myself this month, that I use a lot more energy then I expected and so does my class.Waste is doing bad things and we should stop pollution. I learned how to define an image and figure out the story behind it. I learned about how much energy and watts I use daily.

Human Impact Ad Campaign
This poster means that we want people to care about the environment and use their energy wisely. We dont want people to over use their energy because that can damage the earth in the future.

This week in science #9
This week in science we dissected skate, frogs, and other things. It was really disgusting to see inside of the skate , it smelled very weird. It was fun though to learn about the differences between a male and a female. A male has clasper skeletons and the females don't. We also heard Minatas song, I loved it. We had to
take pictures of our animal from the dorsal view and the ventral view.
This week in science we learned about the body parts of the animals we dissected. We also learned what makes that a male skate has many organs. We also learned that males have Clasper Skeleton. We also learned about ventral view and dorsal view, and had to draw our animals each way. We also learned how to update photos on our gmail. We learned how to annotate the pictures.
The two organisms we dissected were the Perch and the Skate. A difference they have is the Perch has scales on the outside and the Skate scales on the inside.

This month in science #7
This month in science we made a video's of what biome we chose, and slides telling about the biome. Me and my team chose to do the desert as our biome. We watched each others classmates video to see how they did. Everyone did pretty good, some teams needed to speak louder but the gave us great facts. Everyone drew a picture of there made up animal. I think it was very interesting and funny to see everybody's creation. when we were recording, i felt very nervous but i got it over with.
This month in science I learned about different biome's and animals that live there. I also learned how to make slides. I learned about what animals live in the desert and what they eat. I noticed that my group got a lot of work done, and we're a good team. I enjoyed doing the project and i would like to do this again. My team is awesome, we worked well together.

Cricket Investigation
Our question was, what do crickets like better fruits or vegetables?. If we observe a cricket and put fruits and vegetables in the tank, then I think it will prefer vegetables, because when we were observing them they didnt eat the apple's and they got all rotten.
My data table
Background: Cricketrs are related to grasshoppers. The sound emitted by crickets is commonly referred to as chirping.Only the male crickets chirp, crickets like all other insects, are cold-blooded.

This week in science #6
This week in science we did cricket investigation and a data day for the crickets. For the warm up , David asked us what things we'll need. I think I'll need outlets, food, air, internet, and transportation. We also did a lot of group work this week , I was excited about that. We had to research 10 things about what crickets need.
I learned many things about crickets while observing them. They are more active when you take the lid off the cage. We also had to ask some questions like, do crickets like dirt or grass better ?. We learned about dichotomous keys while doing a mission challenge with jelly belly's. we needed to make up questions and answer them while looking at the different jelly beans.

TWIS #5
We did the rocket conclusion for our mission challenge. This week in science we did animal behavior. We watched video's and answered questions. In the video we had to describe what the animals were doing. We also looked at crickets and observed them and write anything that we wanted to know about the crickets. We started this unit yesterday and I think its interesting.
I learned about rockets and what the parts of it is called, nose cone, body and wings. The wings are there to give the rocket stability. We had to figure out our independent variable, dependent variable, hypothesis, and testable question. I also learned about the similarities and differences between animals and humans. We also learned about the body parts of a cricket. When observing the crickets we had to write what they did, many died.

TWIS #1
ienceThis week in science we did a marshmellow challenge,we also looked at different plants. We shared things about what we knew about the plants. When you look closely you can see insects and the patterns on the leaves. My group was fun to be in because its nice to hear what others have to say and there opinions. These activity's are fun.
This week in science we learned more about plants.I also learned more about teamwork/group work.I responded to the warm up(What makes a good teammate)and I wrote "Someone who participates and shares there opinion". I learned how to make a marshmellow stand on sticks. We were struggling to make it stand up.It was hard but we got it,it did take long though.

This week in science 2
This week we got new seats, I like my seat.We also worked in groups, it helped us figure things out. When we were working in the groups we were doing the plant investigation with the cups. The class also learned about new plant called "Brassica Rapa", we had to write a summary about the facts we found on google. This week me and my group also had to figure out what we would do differently the next time we did a plant investigation.
What I learned about brassica rapa and about some of its features. I also learned about what it adapts to,it was interesting to learn new things about it.I have many questions but enjoyed learning about it.Im wondering if it can be different shapes, sizes, or color.I also learned three facts about it,Its not fire resistance, the drought tolerance is low,and there active growth period is in the spring, summer, and fall.Todays class was fun because of the new things i learned about Brassica rapa.

TWIS #4
This week in science we did many things like our Plant investigation #2.I think me and my group are going to accomplish alot in this plant investigation because we are working really hard.I think the plant investigation is easier to do on the computer and it also fun.Basically, we'v been working on our plant investigation and writing about what else we have to do to complete it on our exit slip.On the computer we had jobs like, the graphic organizer, title, results and much more jobs.I like working in groups because you get help you dont have to work alone.
This week we learned about how to plan before doing our plant investigations so it will be neat. We also had to plan out who doing what, and how we can make our work neater and easier to find. After that we graphed it out really orginized it so we will know what to do on the computer. The class was also sketching the plant and looking at how much they grew.I also learned about how data supports the hypothesis.
